Objective: To learn the fundamentals of various treatment system design and the processes. Applications of various treatment principles and concepts are taught through an assigned to design plants. To evaluate a scenario requiring water or waste water treatment & draw an appropriate process flow schemes of the plants being evaluated. Formulate reactor design equation by implementing mass balance concepts & integrating them with chemical & biological kinetic expressions as appropriate professionally convey design calculations.

Course Outlines: The comprehensive course includes diferent modules like basic fundamentals and concepts of design, construction, installation, commissioning and trouble shooting of drinking water, sewage and effluent treatment plants.

Also covers Fundamentals of treatment processes including physical / chemical and biological treatment methods and water and waste water characteristics. Sludge processing advanced treatment methods and treatment plant hydraulics are considered, Principles of fluid mechanics (including open channel flow), and selection of systems as per site conditions.
