Developments in ocean modeling, coupled with data assimilation advance should lead improvements in forecasts of key parameter such as ocean currents. In addition, refinements in operational wave models to include better descriptions of the spectral energy content of the sea state will be useful for both the operation of existing facilities and the design of new ones.
